<strong>Period of Effect:</strong> 06/06/2023 to 06/09/2023<br/><strong>Reason:</strong> 30-20 Order[POPUP_FOR_DETAILS]<br/><strong>Code breach(es):</strong> <ul><li>30-10(2) - You must comply with the taxation laws in the conduct of your personal affairs</li></ul><br/><strong>Explanation:</strong> On 27 April 2023, after completing an investigation into registered tax agent Mr Troy Burns, the Tax Practitioners Board (the Board) decided to impose an order for Mr Troy Burns to complete a course of education in the TASA and to pay in full Lifestyle Accounting Pty Ltd’s outstanding integrated client account (ICA) debt or enter into an approved payment arrangement with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). The Board found that Mr Burns breached subsection 30-10(2) of the Code of Professional Conduct (the Code).<br>The Board found Mr Burns breached the Code by:<br>1. failing in his personal capacity and his capacity as a director to:<br>a. lodge superannuation guarantee charge (SGC) statements by their respective due dates;<br>b. pay or enter into a payment arrangement for an SGC debt;<br>c. pay or enter into a payment arrangement for an integrated client account (ICA) debt;<br>d. lodge multiple income tax returns (ITRs) by their respective due dates;<br>e. lodge multiple business activity statements (BAS) by their respective due dates; and<br>f. lodge multiple instalment activity statements (IAS) by their respective due dates.<br>
